In early spring, hang a charming hummingbird house! Handcrafted in the Smoky Mountains by the Lewis Family. Place under an eve out of wind, rain, sun, predatory birds, and insects. Leave a few bits of dryer lint nearby, but not in the house. Hang your feeders and house early in spring. Males come early to “stake” their territory out so they can attract up to 25 females! There is no guarantee they will use the house the first year (there are no guarantees with any birdhouse), but if they do build a nest, hatchlings return the next year. Nests are the size of a penny. Eggs (2) are the size of a Tic Tac. Clean house out each winter with an old bottle brush and take inside. Each house comes with an instruction card. Good luck! Approximately 4.5″ tall x 2″ wide. Available in Cherry, Maple and Walnut. Each hummingbird house has its own personality and no two are alike. Shapes and styles may vary.
